Festival Hall under Construction!

The Calgary Folk Fest’s new hall and offices are now under way!

Karson Builders are now excavating for the $5.2 million facility that will arise in Inglewood to provide a flexible and affordable performance and meeting space for the greater community.  It addresses a critical and long identified shortage of affordable cultural spaces in Calgary and dovetails with the organization’s values of’ helping out artists and cultural organizations – particularly emerging talents.

Designed by Cardew Architects working closely with the Inglewood Community, the project was initiated in 2002 as part of the Festival’s long-term stabilization and outreach initiatives.  CFMF is a non-profit cultural organization which presents the hugely popular four-day Calgary Folk Music Festival each summer on Prince’s Island.

The Hall should be set to open in October, 2010.
